Scanning guidelinesUpdated 8 months ago
It is paramount to follow the scanning guidelines to ensure successful and accurate scans:
Clothing
- Wear tight-fitting, thin clothing that doesn't compress your body.
- For men: tight-fitting boxer shorts or compression shorts. Scanning shirtless is ideal if comfortable.
- For women: sports bra and tight-fitting shorts or leggings.
- Avoid loose or baggy clothing, as it can affect measurements.
Posture*
*example shown at then end of the article
- Stand up straight with your shoulders back and relaxed.
- Look straight ahead and keep your chin parallel to the floor.
- Place your arms alongside your body, approximately 2-inches away from the hips. Avoid making a wide A-frame pose.
- Make fists with your hands.
- Place your feet on each side of the separator line, facing the ShapeScale logo.
Hair
- If you have long hair, tie it in a high bun. Your hair must not obstruct your neck or your shoulders.
Freeze
- Freeze for the whole duration of the scan (about 60 seconds).
- Do not talk or move your face.
- Try to limit very deep breathing.
TIP: In order to get the best results for subsequent scans, try to be consistent with your scanning conditions/environment!
